12 silent signals your body sends when your blood sugar is too high

1️⃣Excessive thirst (polydipsia)
is one of the most typical signs of hyperglycemia.
When blood sugar levels rise, the kidneys have to work harder to excrete excess glucose, leading to dehydration and an increased need for water.

2️⃣Frequent urination (polyuria)
is also a warning sign.
The kidneys filter excess glucose, which increases urine production and can disrupt sleep.

3️⃣Fatigue and weakness:
When the body cannot use glucose as an energy source (due to a lack of insulin or insulin resistance), the cells do not receive enough fuel, leading to constant fatigue.

4️⃣Blurred vision:
High blood sugar levels can disrupt the fluid inside the eye, impair the lens's focusing, and temporarily lead to blurred vision.

5️⃣Headache

Fluctuations in blood sugar levels can lead to dehydration and changes in blood circulation, which in turn can trigger headaches or migraines.

6️⃣Dry mouth and dry skin:
An excess of glucose can lead to general dehydration, which manifests as a dry mouth, chapped lips, and brittle skin.
The body loses fluid to eliminate the excess sugar.

7️⃣Poorly healing wounds:
Persistently high blood sugar levels damage blood vessels and nerves, impair circulation, and delay wound healing.
Wounds and infections may take longer to heal.
